Celebrating International Mother Language Day in Italy

The International Martyrs' Day was celebrated in the capital of the country with the honor and kind respect of the Bangladesh Embassy.

The concert began at 9pm on February 26 with the singing of Ekushey's time-honored 'Ekushey February May I forget what was done in the blood of my brother' in the service of the Embassy officials and local artists. In addition, a touching patriotic song from the Bangla Radio station was also served.

On the first day of Ekushey, formal day of floral offering began at the temporary Shaheed Minar, set up at the Embassy premises.

First, the Ambassador of Bangladesh appointed in the country, Abdus Sobhan Shikdar, presented the floral. Then the expatriates from all walks of life, including leaders of different Bangladeshi expatriate organizations, paid their respects to the language martyrs.

Many expatriate Bangladeshis, including leaders of more than 5 organizations, participated spontaneously, ignoring the winter night.

Expatriates from all walks of life pay their respects to the linguistic martyrs, including the names of various Bangladeshi expatriate organizations.

In his speech, he fondly remembered the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and the martyrs of the language movement and wished peace of their souls.

The ambassador briefly summarized the history of the language movement, saying that Bangabandhu had made a significant contribution to the preservation of the dignity of the Bengali nation and the Bengali language. Under the leadership of Bangabandhu, the first all-party state language struggle council was formed in the first demand for mother tongue. 

He had to be imprisoned for this movement. On February 24, the language became the final form of the movement. Salam, Barkat, Rafiq, Jabbar and Shafiq were not martyred.

The Ambassador said that Bangabandhu introduced Bangla language to the world class for the first time by addressing the establishment of Bangla as the state language in the 12th and the 25th general session of the United Nations on September 6.

Language Movement Ambassador Abdus Sobhan Shikdar said, "The language movement was the backbone of the Bengali political liberation movement." Inspired by the spirit of Ekushey, we started the movement for freedom from liberty and liberty. In 7, we achieved independent sovereign Bangladesh. Bangabandhu led this victory.

The Ambassador said, "This year we are celebrating the birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation at home and abroad in proper dignity. The main goal of celebrating birth anniversary is to bring the vision of this great leader and his contribution to our freedom to the new generation and the world. The Ambassador thanked the expatriate Bangladeshis for practicing and nurturing Bangla language on foreign soil and urged them to contribute towards building the country by participating in all the programs of Mujib Centenary.
